Seed Corn of the Confederacy
The Story of the Cadets of the Virginia Military Institute at the Battle of New Market. Gindlesperger. Jefferson Davis affectionately referred to the regiment of boys from VMI who fought at New Market as the "seed corn of the Confederacy". This book "…tells the familiar tale of the New Market Campaign from a fresh perspective. Grounded in historical research it is an informed page turner." - The Civil War News. 201 pgs., 6¼"x 9¼", hdbd.

The Battle of New Market
Davis. In vivid detail, this book tells of Breckinridge's audacious domination of the battlefield and of Sigel's tragic ineptitude; of the opposing troops, both seasoned and untried; of the fate of prisoners and of the wounded; and, perhaps most memorably, of the gallantry of the cadets who marched from the classrooms of the Virginia Military Institute directly into the heat of battle. 249 pgs., 5½"x 8½", sfbd.

The Lions of the Hour
The VMI Cadets at the Battle of New Market, May 15, 1864. Keith Rocco. The fire intensified around the outbuildings and the mud pulled at their boots. Struggling forward through the churned up barnyard, they crossed the white farm fences, reaching the rail fence on the north edge of the orchard. Letting loose a volley, the fresh, excited cadets filled the gap in the faltering Confederate line. 22"x 17" limited edition print is signed and numbered by the artist.

The Shenandoah Valley Campaign of 1864
Lepa. This book covers the entire year of 1864 and shows how one event led to another in the Shenandoah Valley, turning once-peaceful garden spots into gory battlefields. Includes memoirs, letters and reports written by the soldiers of both sides that tell of the great leaders, ordinary men, innocent civilians, and armies large and small that took part in battles at New Market, Chambersburg, Winchester, Fisher's Hill and Cedar Creek. 260 pages, 7"x 10", hardcover.

Stonewall Jackson
Dale Gallon. Unique artwork features two prints of Stonewall Jackson along with a CSA patch. On top, in Lord of the Valley, Brig. Gen. Richard Taylor reports to Stonewall just south of New Market, Virginia, late in the afternoon of May 20, 1862. In Jackson in the Valley, bottom, Jackson rides with a portion of his staff in the Shenandoah Valley. Piece measures 14½"X 22" including matte and wood frame.

Strike the Blow for Freedom
The 6th United States Colored Infantry in the Civil War. Paradis. The 6th U.S. Colored Infantry Regiment fought against prejudice as well as against the Confederacy. This in-depth study of their organization and achievements includes their greatest ordeal and demonstration of courage when, during the Battle of New Market Heights, three of their soldiers earned the Congressional Medal of Honor. 224 pgs., 6¼"x 9", sfbd.

Lord of the Valley
Dale Gallon. Late in the afternoon of May 20th, 1862, along the Valley Pike just south of New Market, Virginia, Brig. Gen. Richard Taylor reports to Maj. Gen. T.J. "Stonewall" Jackson. The following day Jackson would launch the second and decisive phase of his classic "Valley Campaign." Framed print measures 15¾"x 10¾" including matte and wood frame.
