Hunley Memorial Medallion
This
unique pewter medallion commemorates the heroic crew of the Confederate
submarine. The obverse side depicts the Hunley moving beneath the surface of
the Atlantic with its torpedo at the ready, while the reverse side lists the
names of the final crewmembers along with the words, "The H.L. Hunley
conducted the first successful submarine attack in naval history when on the
night of 17 February 1864 the Hunley sank the USS Housatonic". Measures 2

General Ulysses S. Grant, the conqueror of Vicksburg and the Army of
