Confederate Flag Poster
The best-known Confederate flag was this Battle Flag that Confederate troops carried on the battlefield. Featuring the cross of St. Andrew and thirteen stars, which represented the eleven states in the Confederacy plus Kentucky and Missouri, it was commonly referred to as the "Southern Cross." September 20th, 1863. Dale Gallon. From atop Snodgrass Hill on the Chickamauga Battlefield, General George H. Thomas sees an approaching yet unidentified column of soldiers in the distance. At this heightened stage of the fighting, he and his officers deliberate their next decision. Poster measures 30"x 20".

 

 

The Surrender
Appomattox Court House, Virginia - April 9th 1865. Keith Rocco. The meeting lasted approximately an hour and a half. When it was over, the Army of Northern Virginia had surrendered, the Federal Government was able to bring increased pressure to bear on other parts of the south, and hostilities were within months of cessation. 24"x 18" poster is signed by the artist.
