Civil War Swords

The Civil War sword was a symbol of strength and was an emblem of rank to the Officers holding them. The Civil War saber was more often given as gifts for distinguished service. Cavalry troopers used the saber as a weapon. A Civil War sword used at close distance could result in a cut that could cause instant death. The Officer's sword was also used in surrender symbolizing the officer's honor and word to the terms of surrender. These links will re-direct you to our affiliate, CivilWarStandard.com
