Evergreen Cemetery Gatehouse in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.

The Evergreen Cemetery is located in Historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The first individuals that lived in the Evergreen gatehouse was Peter and Elizabeth Thorn. Peter joined the Union army while Elizabeth was placed in charge of the cemetery and also served as the caretaker during the Civil War. Shortly after the Battle of Gettysburg, a six month pregnant Elizabeth Thorn dug 91 graves for dead soldiers.
