Little Round Top Books
The
rocky
hill at the southern end of Cemetery Ridge is known as Little Round Top.
Brigadier General Gouverneur K. Warren sees that this hill is unoccupied and
sends an aide to have some troops moved to this key position. Colonel Strong
Vincent led his men to Little Round Top and posted his regiments on the South
side of the hill. Within minutes Vincent's men were rushed by 2 Alabama
regiments. Vincent's left regiment, The 20th Maine led by Colonel
Joshua
Chamberlain, was running extremely low on ammunition and knew that another
attack would destroy his line, Chamberlain decided to fix bayonets and the 20th
