Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain 1828 - 1914,
was a Union General during the American Civil War. He reached the rank of Major
General. Joshua Chamberlain was probably best known for his defense of Little
Round Top during the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863, while serving as Colonel of
the 20th Maine. Before the Civil War, Joshua Chamberlain was teaching Rhetoric
