A Full Blown Yankee of the Iron Brigade: Service with the Sixth Wisconsin Volunteers

Service with the Sixth Wisconsin Volunteers. Dawes. The Iron Brigade was the only all-Western brigade that fought in the eastern armies of the Union. He gives detailed accounts of daily life in the camp and of his involvement at many of the major battles including Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, the Wilderness campaign and more.
